Welcome

Welcome to the Moorhead Kiwanis website.

Chartered in 1921, Moorhead Kiwanis Club has been and is a group of men and women who have made Moorhead a better place to live, work and play.

The Moorhead Kiwanians meet at noon each Thursday at the American Legion Post 21, 303 30th St. No., Moorhead.    Our weekly luncheon meetings are an opportunity for members and guests to network, enjoy lunch, and listen to a program speaker. Visitors are always welcome to join us at our luncheons.  We have more than 30 active members listed on our membership roster.

The Moorhead  Kiwanis Club is part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.  Kiwanis International serves children and communities worldwide with nearly 600,000 adult and youth members in 96 nations. Members annually devote over 6 million hours and $100 million in projects that strengthen communities.

Moorhead Kiwanians are dedicated to serving the children and families of our community.  We support three youth service clubs: The Moorhead High Key Club, the Horizon Middle School Builders Club and a Circle K Club at MSUM. This year we presented 170 Kiwanis dolls to the Children's Miracle Network at Sanford Medical Center. We provide scholarships to Moorhead High seniors. Activities we are involved in include assisting at Arc dances for those with physical and developmental disabilities, maintaining flower beds in downtown Moorhead, providing activities for children at River Arts festivals, ringing bell for the Salvation Army and working at the FM Emergency Food Pantry. We also provide financial support to many entities that work with children and young people.

The current Kiwanis worldwide service project for is the Eliminate Project, protecting mothers and babies again tetanus.  For more information about this project, use the tab on the left or check out the videos and other resources provided by Kiwanis International and UNICEF at www.theeliminateproject.org.

Moorhead Kiwanis is a forward thinking and mission driven service organization. Please feel free to contact me with questions or additional information about our club at phlarson@midco.net.
